Things I wish I'd known 50 is an interesting age. I've learned so much, mostly by mistakes - I was married for 22 years, divorced, and now newly married again. We have five children together, the last one to leave the nest soon. I'm still learning everyday how to be a wife, mom, and now "Mimi" to our sweet grandchild.
My own personal triumphs, grief, frustration, pain, and pride throughout the years has helped me as a therapist walk with hundreds of young mothers, children, couples, and teens as they traverse their most difficult paths. As a school counselor, and now Head of an Elementary School, I've helped rear hundreds of children. I've always been driven to help, but time is waning. As a gift to my babies and anyone else needing an encouraging word through a difficult time -- I will be blogging about lessons I've learned along the way. Not necessarily because I'm anything special, but because Hindsight is always 20/20. |

If I'm going to do this -- let's just be real!Me -- Circa 1986
Senior year, no idea of what life would hold -- but couldn't wait to begin. "Eye of the Tiger" was one of my favorite songs/halftime routine!
Send me a senior pic on facebook -- they are wordless stories of where we came from, what we loved, who we were. |
